Jun. 7 | Underside of Independence: Preserved Underground

Join us for an exciting new program that takes you to the Underside of Independence!

This 2018 multi-series  program will explore the spaces  and artifacts not usually  seen by the public!  We started the series with our 1st program: Preserved Historic Spaces and now for our second program, we look at the items Preserved Underground!

Come see the Franklin Court archaeology site and visit the lab where we “piece together history!” This program will be led by Jed Levin, archaeologist for Independence National Historical Park who will show us the park by exploring the things that were preserved under our feet.

Starting Location: Franklin Court. Enter from Market Street, between 3rd and 4th Streets

Cost: FINHP Members and Guests: $20, General Public $30

Disclaimer: Due to location and condition of the underground areas, this series is not recommended for those with difficulty standing, walking, bending down or climbing and is not handicap accessible. Please note we will also be in in-air conditioned locations so people sensitive to heat and humidity may find this program to be difficult.

Please note that spaces can be narrow and the ground uneven. Appropriate footwear is required.  Children must be over 12.
