June 14 thru Labor Day.
The Twilight Tours are free evening walking tours that occur from mid-June through Labor Day. Each tour is led by a volunteer guide who has been trained to give an exceptional, one of a kind tour. Tours leave from the Ranger Desk at the Independence Visitor Center which is located at 6th and Market Streets. Tours start at 6:00 pm and last approximately an hour.
Each tour is completely unique. Each of our volunteer guides researches and creates a tour based on interpretive themes here at Independence. You could take multiple tours and never hear the same thing twice.
Reservations are not required.* Just show up a few minutes before 6:00 pm and check in with your guide. If you need to leave early, that is okay; just tell your guide that you will be leaving partway through the tour.
If you have a group of 20 or more people, please call the Friends office at 215-861-4971 and let us know that you are planning to bring your group on a tour. We want to make sure that we alert our guide or bring in another volunteer, if it is needed.
