The Young Friends of Independence is a group of civic mind young professionals who support the most iconic place in all of Philadelphia, Independence National Historical Park, home to Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. The members of the organization come from various backgrounds and professional careers and they come together in support of our national park because they believe that these icons and what they represent are what makes Philadelphia a great city to work in, to live and to enjoy with friends and family.
The Young Friends host various activities through the year such as their Garden Party, Dark Side of Philadelphia History Party and much more to support projects in the park that are in need of funding. Currently they are raising money for the working Bark Ranger program at Independence. Along with hosting events, they also volunteer at programs and events that the Independence Historical Trust hosts in support of the national park.
The goals of the Young Friends are very simple:
- Support Independence National Historical Park
- Spread the word about the great things that did occur and are occurring everyday here at the park
- Remind young professionals that Independence National Historical Park is one of the many reasons why it is so great to live, work and raise a family in the City of Brotherly Love
